 My Voice Can Change The World

Ages:  Level 1 — Grades K-3; Level 2 — Grades 4-8

SPRING 2024 SESSION ONLY: All students in grades K-5 should register for Level 1; students in grades 6-8 are invited to register for our Spring Mainstage Musical.

Does your child know that his or her voice matters?  In this 10-week course, your child will gain confidence and self-awareness through vocal performance.  Students will explore healthy tone production, pitch accuracy, music reading, and song presentation skills in a warm, supportive setting.  Session will culminate with a musical theater performance for family and friends.

Tuition: $300 per 10 week session


Welcome to the Stage!

Ages: Grades K-5

Learn the basics of stage performance as well as the behind-the-scenes elements of theater in a fun, play-based setting in this 10-week introductory-level acting class. Sessions can be taken individually as schedules permit, or students can register for the entire sequence which is designed to work sequentially.

Fall Session: Introduction to Storytelling

Students will create tableaus with fairy tales, masks, and props, explore costume and prop production, learn basic stage directions and how blocking affects an audience’s experience, explore ways to portray characters physically, and learn to interact with other characters.

Winter Session: Tell My Story

In this session, students will build on basic acting skills while utilizing their own experiences to create theater through play writing, monologue creation, and improvisation. Class will culminate with a showcase performance of student work.

Spring Session: Spring Production

Students will apply their knowledge of stagecraft in the performance of a short play in this session. Students will take full part in the creative process by learning what rehearsals are like for actors in addition to behind-the-scenes work like sets, costumes, and props.

Tuition: $300 per 10-week session


Introduction to Violin

Ages: grades 2-5 (exceptions made with permission from the instructor)

This 10-week course is designed to give the student a strong foundation for future growth on the violin, including the most effective violin posture and bow hold/mechanics to make a beautiful sound. By the end of the course, the student will be able to play a few beginning songs. Success depends on home practice at least 4-5 times a week.

Students will need to provide their own violin and and a Kun or Everest shoulder pad. The following local shops rent string instruments and can measure for a good fit: Golden Violins, Mt. Airy Violins and Bows, Music and Arts

Tuition: $300 per 10-week session


Introduction to Violin Boot Camp

Ages: grades 2-5 (exceptions made with permission from the instructor)

Date/Time: Monday through Friday, July 31-August 11, 10-11am

This class meets daily, Monday through Friday for two weeks. It is designed not only to build a strong technical foundation for future growth but to help students develop good practice habits.  Skills taught include the most effective violin posture and bow hold/mechanics to make a beautiful sound. By the end of the course, the student will be able to play a few beginning songs.
